Fly of the Month

The March Brown Nymph is a great pattern to have for imitating the nymph stage of the March Brown Mayfly nymph. March Browns are typically the first mayflies of the season. It’s a simple pattern similar to a Pheasant Tail in it’s buggy look.

Hook: #12-16 nymph

Weight: Lead-free wire

Thread: Brown

Tail: Pheasant tail

Rib: 3X tippet colored brown

Body: Hare’s ear or red squirrel

Wingcase: Mottled turkey feather

Throat: Match body

Legs: Hungarian partridge feather

Fly Tying Night

Coming soon! We’re planning to have a drop-in fly tying night in the very near future. As soon as we nail down a location we’ll post the day and time. This will be a non-structured, tie-what-you-want event just to have an opportunity to be among friends and share some flies, lies, ideas, and tips.
