INSTRUCTION
From time to time we’ll offer instruction through clinics, workshops, and classes to introduce and/or improve fly fishing and fly tying skills. Classes will be posted here when available.
Fly Tying 101 – Introduction to Fly Tying
This basic course will cover tying a series of flies over several sessions intended to teach foundational tying skills. No tying experience needed. Materials will be provided and loaner equipment available for a deposit, but it’s highly recommended participants have their own equipment. Course will cover the following types of flies.

- Wet Flies
- Dry Flies
- Terrrestrials

The Fly Fishing Experience
A one-day clinic to introduce you to fly fishing covering: a brief history of fly fishing; rod, reel, and line setups; and a basic cast. Class size will be limited.
Fly Fishing 101
A Complete Introduction To Fly Fishing That Goes Over The Basics Of The Equipment, Casting, Entomology, And Reading Water. This Is A Multi-Session Course.

Fly Fishing 201
Stanislaus Fly Fishers announces a new fly-fishing class. Fly Fishing 201 is a four-session, on- water program designed to help intermediate anglers build skills. This class will be limited to 3-4 persons to allow individual instruction.
Participants should have basic fly-fishing (intermediate) skills and experience. The class will meet for four days over 2-3 months, fitting participants schedules. There will be 4 modules:
- Dry fly Fishing.
- Indicator and Dry Dropper Nymphing.
- Float-and-Fly & Streamer Bass Fishing.
- Euro & Tight Line Nymphing.
